Life is but a Netflix Queue...
Have you ever wondered what shows Macbeth recommends? Wait no longer! Here is a list of shows you can catch Macbeth watching when he is not ruling:
1) Reign is Macbeth's favorite show involving ambition for power and the masculinity a king must demonstrate to keep his subjects in line. In the show Reign, King Henry is constantly thinking about his next move of conquest to win England territory for France, demonstrating the ruthlessness a ruler needs to move his kingdom further. King Henry's wife, the Queen, is full of ambition for him and for France, serving a reminder to Macbeth's own wife. Macbeth and King Henry are quite similar in character for they both become paranoid of opposition. For both rulers, their paranoia takes form into visions of the men they have wronged in the past.
2) Vampire Diaries is Macbeth's guilty pleasure when he wants to tap into his masculinity and bring himself back to his days as a warrior in the battlefield. Stefan Salvatore demonstrates the characteristics Macbeth possessed when he was Thane of Cawdor. Stefan fought for what he believed was right and always to protect his lover Elaina. Macbeth loves his wife Lady Macbeth and wants to give her the same protection that Stefan provides to Elaina. Vampire Diaries is also filled with the supernatural where the witch Bonnie told the others the prophecies she saw. This aligns closely to Macbeth's belief that the prophecy would tell his future as a king. Both Macbeth and the characters in the show Vampire Diaries base their actions off of the supernatural.
3) Mean Girls is another favorite of Macbeth's. Regina George embodies Macbeth's ambition which transformed him to a murderer and tyrant. Regina wanted to maintain her power as the popular of high school so she terrorized others and even backstabbed her friend Katie by kissing her crush. Regina's selfish and cruel actions lead back to her insecurity of the possibility that she could lose her popularity to the new girl Katie. This insecurity of power is similar to Macbeth's who fears that (from the witches vision) that it will be Banquo's lineage that will serve the kingdom. Therefore Macbeth can easily relate to the character Regina George and enjoys her strong willed character.
4) How to get away with Murder is Macbeth's favorite TV drama show to watch whenever he has the time. The show is about a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defense professor become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives. Throughout the show, each student gets caught up in their lies and keeps making up more lies and hurting more people to keep their innocence safe against the police. This is true for Macbeth who decides to kill Banquo because he believes it will protect him from everyone finding out that he killed King Duncan. So, if you are looking for a show centered around ambition and blood, How to get away with Murder is the show for you!

I though the way you framed this was very creative and the shows you chose accurately reflect the character of Macbeth. While I have not seen any of these shows/movies, based on your summaries and comparisons it is clear to see you placed substantial thought into each recommendation. I especially enjoyed your recommendation of the Vampire Diaries because of the idea that both protagonists act on ambition and some supernatural force. By reading your blog, I considered several character traits about Macbeth that I had not previously thought of.
